Already passionate about Muay Thai and with previous fighting experience, this member joined Ronin more than six years ago after hearing about the standard of coaching and the gym's reputation for developing fighters. 

Living in Coventry didn't stop him from making the commitment. When he first joined, he regularly travelled from Coventry to Birmingham by bus to attend training because he believed Ronin was the right environment to help him develop. 

From his first session, he felt welcomed and supported. Although he already had experience as a fighter, he wanted to build his confidence, improve his technique and be challenged to reach a higher level. 

Over the years, that commitment has seen him progress both inside and outside the ring. He has developed his Muay Thai skills, competed in fights and grown significantly in confidence, dedication and self-belief. 

He also believes that being part of Ronin gave him positive direction at an important stage in his life. Having a place to train, positive role models and a strong support network helped him stay focused and make positive choices. He feels that without this environment, he could potentially have been drawn towards negative peer groups or environments that may have taken his life in a very different direction. 

Instead, he remained committed to both his training and his education. 

His journey has since taken another step. From arriving as a student and fighter, he is now a trusted coach and mentor, able to lead training sessions, support other coaches and help younger students develop their own skills and confidence. 

Coaching has taught him how to plan structured sessions, adapt training to individual needs, communicate professionally with students and parents, and take responsibility for supporting others safely and effectively. 

Alongside his commitment to Muay Thai, he remained focused on his education and successfully completed his university degree, demonstrating his ability to balance academic achievement with years of demanding training and coaching.   

Today, he continues to train, coach and mentor the next generation passing on the skills, encouragement and positive direction that helped shape his own journey.
